As Stillborn mentioned in the announcement section, I created five site themes, one for each of the major types of exalt. The basic design makes use of a background photo relevent to the exalt type and a pattern based on their associated magical material.

They still need a little icon work done, as some of the icons are generic and don't match the theme very well. However, in the course of making these things this weekend, I decided I didn't like them as much as I thought I would.

I am officially abandoning these themes. If you want to expand on them, you can download them from the tools section of my exalted page (though, actually getting them installed here is another matter).

If anyone comes up with an "improved" version, simply email it to me, or send me a link to it, and I'll do what needs done.

Specifically, if someone could modify the logo to say "Redux" in a way that doesn't make it look shitty, that would be great.

I wish I could... sadly don't have the program to view/edit said files... *shrug* sorry.

I say screw it, just take over the name. It's not like the original site is going to miss it.

Seriously, though, I was under the impression that "Exalted Compendium Redux" was a temporary name. When you choose a new domain name, I can remake the logo

As far as the images go, they're just GIF files. You can right-click-and-save them right off of the web page. Any image editor should be able to handle them.

As for the styles themselves, they're just text files. If your computer can't uncompress a gzip file (what wordman compressed them as on his site), let me know and I'll make them available as regular ZIPs.

Yes and no. It was just a placeholder title originally, but it's actually starting to grow on me.

What I like about it is that in a very strightforward way, it lets people know that this is the intended successor to the EC, but at the same time, it's a fresh start.

That, and I really like the word "redux" :P

That said, if anyone has a name I like better, I'd consider switching.

Actually, the themes make heavy use of translucent PNGs. These are a little trickier than GIFs. You could get away with gifs for the icons, though.

I tried to download them before, and it wouldn't open so I would guess the computer I'm on can't. So if you can make them zip files I'm sure I could try my hand at things. I love to do artsy fartsy stuff like that.

Ah. I just took a stab and looked in the images directory for "abyssal", which apparently uses no PNG files. I see that some of the others do.

I'll especially like making the icons. I can definately help with that part.

The ZIP version of the themes can be found here.

I agree, the Redux has grown on me too!

It has to stay, it just has to...

Heh. "The Redux" is also easier to say than "The Compendium".
